Foreigner Arrested at Bengaluru Airport for Attacking CISF Personnel

Unruly Foreigner Sparks Chaos at Bengaluru Airport

In a dramatic turn of events at Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL), a 37-year-old foreign national, Foils Eliott Blair, was arrested for creating a disturbance and attacking security personnel. Blair, who holds both Australian and UK passports, attempted to enter Terminal 2 without a valid flight ticket and engaged in a violent altercation with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

Unauthorized Entry Attempt Turns Violent

The incident took place between 10 pm and 11 pm on Wednesday at Terminal 2, primarily used for international flights. Blair allegedly tried to force his way inside the terminal without a valid boarding pass. When confronted by CISF officials, he became verbally abusive and physically assaulted both male and female officers. Witnesses reported that he also threatened passengers and obstructed security operations.

CISF and Police Take Immediate Action

Despite his violent resistance, CISF personnel overpowered Blair and detained him on the spot. The airport police were immediately called, and Blair was taken into judicial custody. Authorities confirmed that he had no valid travel documents for a scheduled flight from India.

Blair has been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including:

  • Section 353 – Assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from duty
  • Section 504 – Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace
  • Section 506 – Criminal intimidation
  • Section 323 – Voluntarily causing hurt
  • Section 354 – Assault or use of criminal force against a woman

Following his remand to judicial custody, authorities are investigating his background and any previous criminal records.

Officials React to the Incident

A CISF spokesperson praised the security team for handling the situation effectively: “Our personnel acted swiftly to neutralize the threat. Security at Bengaluru airport remains a top priority, and any attempt to breach protocol will be met with strict action.”

The police are also in touch with the Australian and UK embassies regarding Blair’s legal status and the possibility of deportation after court proceedings.

Enhanced Security Measures at Bengaluru Airport

This incident underscores the importance of airport security measures, prompting authorities to strengthen screening and monitoring at entry points. CISF personnel have been instructed to maintain heightened vigilance, especially in areas handling international flights.

Past Incidents of Disruptions at Indian Airports

Bengaluru airport is not new to security breaches and unruly passenger behavior. Similar incidents have been reported at major airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, leading to calls for stricter enforcement of security protocols.

Blair’s arrest serves as a stern warning to those attempting to disrupt airport security. The Bengaluru airport authorities remain committed to ensuring passenger safety and seamless operations. The legal proceedings against Blair will determine further actions, including potential deportation.
