Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his commitment to combating corruption in India and called on government officers to take decisive action against those who engage in corrupt practices, regardless of their position or power.

Modi emphasized the importance of honesty and  integrity in public service and noted that corruption is a significant obstacle to the country’s development. “The scourge of corruption not only tarnishes the government’s image but also hurts the common man who is struggling to make ends meet. There is no dearth of political will to tackle corruption, and officers should take action against corrupt individuals without any hesitation, regardless of their power,” the prime minister stated.

Modi’s appeal for action against corruption comes at a time when there have been several high-profile cases of corruption in the country, including the Punjab National Bank scam, in which a number of high-ranking officials were allegedly involved.

The prime minister also stressed the need for technology to enhance government transparency and efficiency and make it easier for citizens to access government services. “Technology can be a great enabler in the fight against corruption. We must use technology to create a transparent, accountable, and efficient government,” he said.

Modi’s statement was well-received by many, who view it as a positive step toward creating a more transparent and accountable government. “The prime minister’s statement is very encouraging. It shows that the government is serious about tackling corruption and that it is committed to establishing a more transparent and accountable system,” said a political analyst.

Overall, Modi’s call to action against corruption is a strong indication that the government is dedicated to creating a clean and corruption-free India. It is now up to government officers to take action and turn his words into action.
